Procrastination is our worst enemy
Usually when we procrastinate, it’s because we trained ourselves that it’s ok to defer the task we needed to do. The more you do it, procrastination becomes a habit. The only way to break this cycle is to create a new habit, no focus on stopping procrastination. Overwriting the habit of procrastinating with something more productive to get things done is the best way to overcome this issue.
Remove distractions
When working on your tasks for the day, remove any distractions. Our cellphone is the number one distraction as every time you are working on the important task, we sometimes feel the urge to check on our phone and social media. It is a habit we need to break. If you turn your phone off or just place in on the table on silent mode and upside down so you won’t see the screen, it will help you focus on your tasks.
Reward yourself
Our brain has the mechanism that releases endorphin that makes us feel good. Every time you complete a task, reward your self such as a coffee from Starbucks or go for a nap. It’s training your brain that you will feel rewarded and good about yourself AFTER completing the task. Eventually, it will become a habit and you will thank yourself for it.
