For other video files, you can right click, go to details and click “Remove Properties and Personal Information” and all metadata will get deleted. But for MKV files, this won’t work. You can edit MKV file title using MKVToolNix if you only have a few files. If you have a lot of MKV files, removing the title metadata one by one is not efficient. Using command prompt, you can automate batch delete MKV file titles with a few codes.
First, you will need to download and install MKVToolNix. You can easily find it by searching on Google.
Go to installation folder and right click mkvpropedit and copy as path (For windows 10, hold shift then right click to show copy as path)
Replace “mkvpropedit path”
Go to your MKV file folder, right click any clip and copy as path
Replace “mkv video folder path”
Delete the file name in folder path
Copy the updated codes
Open Command Prompt, then paste the updated codes and press Enter
MKV batch delete title metadata complete
